Picnic at Wickham Woodlands!
We had a great turnout for the scrumptious and otherwise greatly enjoyable zero-waste potluck picnic on Wednesday, June 18th in Wickham Woodlands Park. But we all know the rule: what happens at the park, stays at the park; so we’re not going to share too many details.
Committee Doings and Upcoming Events
Food Scraps to Compost: Our food scrap collection activities are shifting into high gear, and the committee in charge is looking for a few more volunteers for the months of July and August. You can sign up here or contact them at Garden@sustainablewarwick.org.
SW Hikes: After two successful hikes, we’re contemplating another one to be held on the afternoon of July 6th. Let us know if you are interested.

SW Pollinator Pathway: The Pollinator Pathway Committee continues selling “Pollinator Welcome” signs and working in Mountain Lake Park. Additional volunteers are always welcome. Pollinators@sustainablewarwick.org
Zoom Garden Plot: Zoom Garden Plot will meet on Monday July 14th. garden@sustainablewarwick.org
Helpsy: The Helpsy Clothing Bin initiative is making impressive progress. To date, the combined total of the current bins (Warwick Town Hall and Village Hall of Florida) is more than 13,700 lbs. of clothing/textiles. This translates into nearly $650 raised. Going forward, we will provide updates on Sustainable Warwick's Helpsy page, located on the sidebar to the right.
Sustainable World Book Club: June's title was Becoming Earth, by Feris Jabr. We are reading Exit West by Mohsin Hamid for our July 8th discussion. All are welcome to join us. Contact BookClub@sustainablewarwick.org to get the Zoom link.
One of our sister organizations, the Monarch Village Project, hosted the 2nd Annual Monarch Village Festival this Saturday, June 21st at Park Avenue Elementary School. On Sunday, June 22nd they will host a viewing of an inspiring video, Beauty on the Wing, about the life of the monarch butterfly. It will start at 1 PM at Albert Wisner Public Library (please register in advance).
