We are conducting the Coolest Recycling Drive of 2023 to collect appliances with refrigerants so they can be properly recycled with no cost to participants. Because the refrigerants are extremely intense greenhouse gases, we believe recycling these appliances is the most important thing most of us will ever recycle. (That’s why this recycling drive is extremely cool!) Our drive will be held the week of Earth Day (April 22nd) and will include drop-off events at the following times and locations:
Monday, April 17th - 4 to 7 PM: Warwick Town Hall Parking Lot - 132 Kings Highway, Warwick, New York 10990
Tuesday, April 18th - 4 to 7 PM: Greenwood Lake Public Library - 79 Waterstone Road, Greenwood Lake, NY 10925
Wednesday, April 19th - 4 to 7 PM: Florida Village Barn - Maple Avenue, Florida, NY 10921
Saturday, April 22nd - 9 AM to 12 PM: Chase Parking Lot - South Street, Warwick, NY 10990 (part of Operation Clean Sweep)
In the Coolest Recycling Drive, we will collect:
Window air conditioners
Dehumidifiers
Mini Refrigerators
Water coolers
Partially used cans of refrigerants
We’ll also have a pickup truck brigade ready to go to homes of people who are unable to schlep their appliances to a drop-off site. To request a pickup, email CleanEnergy@sustainablewarwick.org.
We will not accept full-size refrigerators in the Coolest Recycling Drive. But, if you have a working, full-size refrigerator or freezer — O&R will give you a $25 rebate for it — and they’ll come to your home and pick it up. Call 866-552-3755 or check out the O&R website for details. (If you aren’t sure what to do with the $25 rebate, feel free to contact us for suggestions!)
