Look at all we have accomplished in the last year!

  • Coolest Recycling Drive: Now in its third year, hosting collection drives in multiple locations and collecting 230 appliances and preventing the emissions of an estimated 600,000+ pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent

  • Food Scraps Collection at the Warwick Valley Farmers Market: 17,000 lbs of scraps collected from market-goers, residents and vendors = 635 lbs of methane saved from the atmosphere; 28 volunteers gave >600 hours; >30 bags of finished compost were donated to the Community Garden

    • Goodmaker Acres (Edenville location): partnered with SW for a total of 2,400 lbs. of food scraps collected from community members = 90 lbs. of methane avoided

  • Book Club celebrated 10 years and 120 books read—check out our Top 15 Books list

  • Pollinator Pathway transformed Mountain Lake Park gardens and worked with Girl Scouts to establish 2 community pollinator gardens

  • 4 Nature Hikes with local leaders exploring flora and fauna of local parks

  • Helpsy: 3rd bin added in the town; 20,400 lbs of clothing/textiles recycled, reused and kept out of the landfill this year

  • Earth to Warwick Green Calendar

  • Community Garden and Orchard

  • Green Screen committee conducted interviews of candidates for the School Board and Town Council

  • Hosted (2) site visits: Materials Recycling Facility tour and Warwick Isle

  • Treecycle booth

To round the year off, our Annual No-Waste Potluck Dinner was held at Fence Road Farm Brewery in December. Our gracious host, Dan Doyle welcomed us once again. Great food was brought by our members and also supplied by Fence Road’s kitchen. It’s so nice to have a community of people who share your interests and passions. Making a difference in our hometown and beyond.
